Diane von Furstenberg Autumn/Winter 2010-11
Nathan Jenden stepped out for the last time as creative director at Diane von Furstenberg with yet another spectacular collection. With Natalia Vodianova opening the show in a silver-grey power suit, adorned with flowers, it was easy to see how inspiration had been taken from the theme 'a man's life trapped inside a woman's body.' Masculine jackets were crafted from the softest wool and velvet and worn over floaty chiffon dresses while chunky knits were placed over the prettiest of miniskirts. Elsewhere, hard embellishment was added to soft woollen skirts to perfectly show how opposites can be brought together to stunning effect.
